Registration is open for the International SISN Neutron Science Conference (SISNSC 27) that will take place from 18 to 21 January 2027 in Florence at the Santa Teresa Campus of the University of Florence.
SISNSC 27 continues the longstanding tradition of the Italian Neutron Science Society meetings in a fully international format. The conference aims to broaden scientific exchange and strengthen collaborations within the neutron community and researchers from around the world who use neutrons as a research tool.
The scientific program will maintain a strongly interdisciplinary character, covering a wide range of topics:
- Physics and Quantum Materials
- Materials Science, Chemistry, and Engineering
- Biology and Life Sciences
- Geosciences, Environment and Heritage Science
- Instrumentation and Methods
The conference will feature oral and poster contributions, together with dedicated discussion sessions designed to encourage interaction, foster new ideas, and promote scientific collaborations. Participants are encouraged to submit an abstract for an oral or/and a poster contribution. Registration and abstract submission are now open!
The deadline for abstract submission is October 2nd, 2026.
Participation in the conference requires completion of the dedicated registration form. The registration form is the single-entry point for all participants and can be used both by attendees who wish to present a contribution and by those who plan to attend the conference without presenting.
Please visit the general information section for more details.
The 2027 edition will be held in memory of Eleonora Guarini and Marco Zoppi, whose scientific contributions and impact on the neutron community will be honoured through dedicated commemorative sessions during the conference. The conference will also host the Eleonora Guarini PhD Thesis Prize promoted by the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Florence.
For SISN APS members, the conference will also include the Society’s annual General Assembly.
