NAME OF THE INSTRUMENT
Laser scanner Faro Focus S350
Laser scanner Faro Focus S150
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The instrumentation consists of two Faro S-series laser scanners, which use phase-shift technology. They are both equipped with GPS, integrated camera and remote mode control. This compact and lightweight instrumentation is particularly suited for outdoor applications, it allows numerous scan position to be performed in a very short acquisition times guaranteeing accuracy and precision.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The transportable FARO S-series laser scanners, available through MOLAB, have the following technical details:
- Range: 0.6 - 350 m (Faro S350); 0.6 - 150 m (Faro S150)
- High Dynamic Range photo recording 2x/3x/5x
- Measurement speed: up to 976,000 points per second
- Ranging error: ± 1mm
- Sealed design – Ingress Protection (IP) Rating Class 54
- plus: on-site compensation and registration • Scan Group Feature (rescanning of distant targets in higher resolution) • Angular Accuracy: 19 arcsec for vertical/horizontal angles • Integrated color camera: Up to 165 mio. pixel • Laser class: Laser class 1 • Multi-Sensor: GPS, Compass, Height Sensor, Dual Axis Compensator • Scanner control: via touchscreen display and WLAN
The instruments are also equipped with an external camera (for fast acquisitions), GPS sensor, compass and biaxial compensator (precision of 0.015°) with a measurement range of ± 5°. The main advantages of the instrumentation are expressed in an absolute maximum resolution of the single scan of the order of 1.6mm, in the levelling and correct verticality in each gripping station, which are guaranteed by the integrated biaxial compensator, in a cloud of points with attribute RGB, with exact correspondence between chromatic data and geometry, ensured by the integrated or external camera, in the reduction of shadow cones thanks to the ease of handling and the small size of the instruments, which can therefore be easily positioned even in complex strategic points and possibly also managed remotely, with the possibility of significant overlap between scans thanks to the speed of point acquisition which guarantees a significant reduction in the standard deviation in the final registration.

NAME OF THE INSTRUMENT
Laser Scanner Faro Focus Premium
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Faro Focus Laser Scanner instrument available in MOLAB can be used for in situ investigations as it is extremely handy (230 x 183 x 103 mm and weighs 4.4 kg), fast and completely non-invasive. It uses phase difference laser technology, (for which the distance is calculated by comparing the phase difference between the transmitted wave and the received one, thus obtaining information on the coordinates of space) with high acquisition speed, (2,000,000 points / sec) and high degree of precision.
Laser scanner technology is an extremely precise surface methodology, which allows the creation of a three-dimensional model.
The measuring range extends to 350m radius on surfaces with a reflectance coefficient of 90%. An integrated GPS receiver allows to correlate individual scans during post-processing.
3D scanning data is managed in the specific software or imported into other applications specifically made by others. Through the treatment of the point cloud it is possible to calculate distances, areas and volumes, extract sections, profiles and make 2D drawings such as plans and elevations.
