{"id":8484,"date":"2026-05-11T09:59:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T08:59:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.e-rihs.it\/?p=8484"},"modified":"2026-05-11T10:00:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T09:00:24","slug":"e-rihs-contributor-of-the-scientific-methods-in-cultural-heritage-research-grc-application-deadline-june-14-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.e-rihs.it\/en\/e-rihs-contributor-of-the-scientific-methods-in-cultural-heritage-research-grc-application-deadline-june-14-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"E-RIHS contributor of the \u2013 Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage Research\u00a0\u2013 GRC | Application deadline: June 14, 2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The conference theme of this year is \u201cIntegrated Approaches to Characterisation and Conservation: Tracing Histories, Understanding Change, and Shaping Preservation\u201d, and it will take place at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.glacier3000.ch\/en\/hotel\/the-glacier-hotel\">Les Diablerets Conference Centre<\/a>\u00a0in Switzerland, on July 12 \u2013 17, 2026.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E-RIHS ERIC is officially one of the contributors to the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) \u2013 Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage Research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E-RIHS\u2019s financial support to this five-day GRC event was also meant to foster graduate and PhD students\u2019 participation, thereby helping young researchers explore how cross-disciplinary, methodologically integrated strategies drive meaningful progress in cultural heritage research.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported on the official programme, the sessions will delve into how these approaches can trace the layered histories of practice and use embedded in materials, reveal patterns of transformation and degradation over time, and ultimately shape forward-looking strategies for sustainable preservation. From high-resolution imaging and chemical analysis to data-driven modelling and historical, cultural, and artistic contextual interpretation, the program will span innovations that enhance our ability to tackle complexity, trace genesis and use, understand change, and support the long-term conservation of diverse cultural artefacts and built heritage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note the&nbsp;<strong>application deadline is June 14, 2026<\/strong>. This seminar will take place at the same venue on July 11 \u2013 12, 2026.
