_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>From a winning project in the frame of IPERION HS<\/h5>\n<p><i><span>Color changes in Munch paintings and studies of the artist&#8217;s painting materials, <\/span><\/i><span>one of the winning projects<\/span>\u00a0of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iperionhs.eu\/iperion-hs-launches-the-1st-trans-national-access-call-on-november-2-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1st Call for Access<\/a> to the mobile laboratories of IPERION HS,\u00a0<span>proposes the use of several spectroscopic\/molecular, chromatographic and imaging tools, which represent an upgrade of the analytical methods from the past investigation carried out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The multi-analytical study will follow two lines of investigation, the first one on a selection of six paintings by Edvard Munch (1863 -1944) from the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/munchmuseet.no\/\"><span>\u00a0MunchMuseum<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0collection, and the second one on historic paint materials from the artist\u2019s studio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The analysis aims to investigate what one of the museum&#8217;s curators discovered a few years ago: several types of blue and red paint had darkened considerably in paintings created in Warnem\u00fcnde, Germany, in 1907\u201308.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The investigation will mark a step forward in how Munch\u2019s collection is investigated and will create a model of complementary and outreach-driven research to be followed in future projects of MUNCH.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-rihs.it\/laboratori-mobili\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Italian MOLAB<\/a> team is currently <\/span><span>examining five paintings from the museum&#8217;s collection<\/span><span> with the facilities of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispc.cnr.it\/it_it\/\"> <span>CNR ISPC<\/span><\/a><span> Florence,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ino.cnr.it\/\"> <span>CNR INO<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scitec.cnr.it\/en\/\"><span>CNR SCITEC<\/span><\/a><span> and<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smaart.unipg.it\/en\/\"> <span>SMAArt-UNIPG<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The team will be joined <\/span><span>in October 2021 by the<a href=\"https:\/\/crc.mnhn.fr\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Center for Research on Preservation<\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/crc.mnhn.fr\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span>(CNRS)<\/span><\/a> <span>of the<\/span> <span>French <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iperionhs.eu\/molab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MOLAB<\/a>, and in November by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispc.cnr.it\/it_it\/2020\/12\/15\/xraylab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">XRayLAb of CNR ISPC<\/a> Catania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The MOLAB and FIXLAB contribution to this inter-and multidisciplinary study will mark a step forward in how\u00a0 Munch\u2019s collection is investigated and will create a model of complementary and outreach-driven research to be followed in future projects of the Munch Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>You can read more about the conservation work on Edvard Munch&#8217;s inheritance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.munchmuseet.no\/en\/about\/conservation\/?fbclid=IwAR19eWBpaF5PX-AEoz8Jg4P17SaOKZN9yW24g6sY3RJEXt6f6G3_1_733tA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243;
