Lo scopo di un&#8217;indagine magnetica \u00e8 quello di indagare la struttura del sottosuolo sulla base delle anomalie del campo magnetico terrestre prodotte dalle diverse propriet\u00e0 magnetiche dei materiali presenti nel sottosuolo. Il campo magnetico misurabile sulla superficie terrestre varia notevolmente in funzione dello spazio e del tempo. I valori numerici vengono quindi misurati facendo riferimento a una precisa coordinata spaziale. Senza un tale riferimento, un gruppo di valori non ha significato. Lo strumento viene normalmente spostato lungo linee di misura equidistanti, note come traverse, separate da una distanza fissa, \u0394y. I dati vengono acquisiti sopra queste traverse a specifici intervalli di campionamento, \u0394x. Un gradiometro \u00e8 definito come uno strumento mediante il quale viene campionato il valore del gradiente del campo magnetico, dB\/dz. Il gradiometro non \u00e8 altro che un magnetometro differenziale, cio\u00e8 \u00e8 dotato di due sensori separati da una distanza fissa e piccola rispetto alla distanza della sorgente di cui si vuole misurare il gradiente. Per operare in questa configurazione, i due sensori devono procedere contemporaneamente al campionamento di B.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DETTAGLI TECNICI<\/strong><br \/>L&#8217;elevata qualit\u00e0 dei dati \u00e8 garantita dall&#8217;altissima sensibilit\u00e0 del magnetometro GSMP-35 (0,0002 nT a 1 Hz).
